What is SOAS University of London giving day campaign, ‘Questions worth asking’?

Our giving day platform will allow the SOAS community to come together to make a difference in the lives of students and to support SOAS academic research. to make a Our aim is to raise £250,000 for scholarships and bursaries for SOAS students, including displaced people under our Sanctuary Scholarship scheme, and to support SOAS academic research into the ‘Questions worth asking’.

At SOAS, we asking challenging questions about the issues facing our world. Equality, democracy and governance. Access to water, food, education and wealth. We ask searching questions about religion, history, languages, art and society.

SOAS’s work continues to inform, influence and shape the world we live in. We connect communities, build bridges and nurture understanding across cultures and continents. Funds raised from this campaign will help us to continue this vital work and ask the Question worth asking.

Where does my gift go?

You can select from one of four options - Questions worth asking (Annual Fund - unrestricted to SOAS University of London), the SOAS Sanctuary Scholarships Appeal, Academic Research or The SOAS Law Alumni Bursary. Gifts will be directed to the fund which the donor selects when making their gift. Any gifts that are received without a designation will be directed to the Questions worth asking, unrestricted category.

SOAS University of London SOAS is an exempt charity, Inland Revenue Number X14199. You can claim gift aid on your gift if you are a UK taxpayer.

What are matches and challenges?

A challenge incentivizes donors to meet a fundraising goal to trigger more donations.

A match fund is a challenge whereby a donor agrees to match other cash gifts up to a set amount of money.
